The restaurant Le Jardin de France (French for The garden of France) is one of three restaurants in Baden-Baden, which has been awarded a Michelin star. The hosts are Sophie and Stéphan Bernhard. She takes care of the service and he is the responsible chef.
The Gault Millau awarded the cuisine, which is free of "exotic and experimental influences" with 16 out of 20 points. According to the guide, the prices for the wines referred are "steep".[1] The Michelin Guide awarded one star and refers to the wine list, as "particularly attractive".[2] From Tuesday to Friday the restaurant offers a relatively cheap businesslunch. The 3 course menu costs 32 euros.
In online reviews from time to time a poor services is mentioned. The Gault Millau also contains such a hint: "Perhaps [Madame Bernhard] allows the worthy gentlemen in the service [...] to give a smile to the guests from time to time - even for free?"[1]
The restaurant Le Jardin de France is located in the courtyard of the Augusta Arcaden on the northern corner of the Augustaplatz. Once one has found the way, the hidden, quiet location certainly has advantages. In summer, guests can take a seat in the courtyard next to the fountain.
