The Turgenev Monument is located in the Lichtentaler Allee close to the Brenners Park-Hotel and Spa. It was erected in 2000 and reminiscent of the Russian writer Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev, who lived in Baden-Baden from 1863 to the Franco-German War in 1870.
Monument[edit]
The monument is a bronze bust of Turgenev. At the end of the bronze base the name of the writer and his biographical data is written in Russian: "Иван Сергеевич Тургенев 1818-1883". The bust stands on a white stone base. On this base a transliteration of the name, the biographical data and the residence time in Baden-Baden is listed: "Ivan Turgenev 1818-1883 / Baden-Baden 1863-1870"
